Marian Ignat is an experienced banking executive with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 15 years in senior leadership roles at Bancpost, Banca Comercială Română, and Česká Spořitelna. Since 2023, he is leading the Group Retail Transformation at Erste Group, driving strategic initiatives across multiple markets in CEE.
Before joining Erste Group, Marian played a key role in shaping the retail distribution and digital transformation strategy at Banca Comercială Română. He was involved in launching several market-first innovations, including biometric authentication for digital channels, fully digital onboarding and lending solutions, branch transformation aligned with a “figital” experience, and George digital ecosystem.
Marian holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Bucharest and an Executive MBA from the University of Sheffield.
