Mrs. Iustina Macovei has a PhD in Economic Sciences from Academy of Economic Studies, with master’s studies in Communication and Public Relations at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (2004), respectively in-depth studies specializing in Intra-European Transactions (2002) and a bachelor’s degree in International Economic Relations (2001) at “Ovidius” University from Constanța.
Between 2005 and 2015, she held the position of adviser on economic issues within the Business Environment Department of the Presidential Administration, responsible for, among other, the following activities: documentation, analysis, drafting (including processing and statistical analysis) and, on this basis, the substantiation of decisions/points of view, carrying out comparative studies (laws, etc.), drafting position papers, etc., in the fields of: energy and the extended Black Sea region, transport, public administration reform, budget, international financial institutions, SMEs, EU policies in the Department’s areas of responsibility.
She carried out teaching activities within the Academy of Economic Studies and the Romanian Diplomatic Institute.
Since 2015, she is a competition inspector, rapporteur in several large-scale investigations of the Competition Council, specializing in financial and banking services.
