Dan is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with almost 20 years of experience in the insurance and fintech sectors. In 2008, he co-founded Scala Assistance, a company renowned for its platform, roviniete.ro, which revolutionized the road tax payment process for drivers nationwide by bringing it online. At the time of its inception, such digital services were unprecedented, and the digitalization trend was not as prevalent as it is today. Scala Assistance was acquired by a Swiss entity in late 2018.
More recently, he launched a platform enabling bus travelers to pay for tickets via SMS, currently utilized in public transportation systems across various Romanian cities, offering a convenient alternative for urban commuters.
In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Dan is a tech investor, participating in an investment fund and various startups. He is currently the co-founder and CEO of Faragrija.ro, a service platform that optimizes the entire motor claim process for drivers, helping them make informed decisions while saving money, time, and energy. User experience remains a top priority for him.
Dan holds a Master’s degree in Finance-Banking Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Stock Exchanges from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi.
